According to Beacon’s Tagrix prescribing information, the recommended osimertinib dose is 80 mg once daily for the indication described in that product information.
| Item | Information |
|---|---|
| Standard dose in Beacon PI | 80 mg once daily |
| Route | Oral |
| Food | With or without food |
| Missed dose | Do not make up; take next dose as scheduled |
| Reduced dose used for certain toxicities | 40 mg once daily |
| Treatment duration | Depends on indication and clinical response |
Dose modification
Beacon’s prescribing information describes dose interruption, reduction or discontinuation for particular toxicities. For example, certain QTc abnormalities can require withholding treatment and resuming at 40 mg, while established ILD/pneumonitis requires permanent discontinuation.
Do not self-adjust
The 40 mg strength is not an instruction for patients to reduce their own dose. Dose changes should be made by the treating healthcare professional.
Drug interactions
Strong CYP3A inducers such as rifampicin, phenytoin and carbamazepine should generally be avoided because they can reduce osimertinib concentrations.
